7.7.2020 Devlog (Video Clip & GMTK 2022)

 Summary

So I decided to join the game GMTK 2022 2 day game jam!! I am joining with a friend with whom we made the game for the GDTV 2022 game jam, so we have some experience working together, and I am very excited!! I started today off by working on the game for my internship for a few hours, then I took a break and watched The Office! Later I worked on Mad Scientist game, and today I was able to fix some very annoying bugs, there are still a few more to fix still.  Later I worked on A Farmer's Valley game, where I made strong progress with the feature I am currently working on. A Farmer's Valley

Today I made some great progress with this project, I was able to finish of the feature where player is allowed to drop items only on certain places, I designed a reusable system, that I can use in the future project, instead of hardcoding it. It was very tough & complex, but I did it. 
The way it works is I draw layer on top of the entire map, while in editor, the game searches every single tile in that area, to see the tile details, and checks whether I can drop the item, it is all done in the editor, and causes no performance issues at all while the player is playing the game since player only requests the specific tile detail.

Mad Scientist

Today I made some good progress with this game too, I mostly did bug fixing, and finishing of some features that were done but not implemented. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post a clip showcasing the changes.
