4.7.2022 Progress Report( Announcement )
Progress Report:
Today I have an announcement to make!!!
Today I started my first day as an intern at CraftiPlays. I am working there as a game developer, and I am extremely excited to have started, as I think this will be an amazing learning opportunity!
I am extremely excited about this because my plan was to work on my portfolio, and improve for the rest of the year, and then really try an get an internship, but I continued to apply for internships during this time regardless, and I am very happy to have gotten one this early, and am even happier to have started my career as a game developer!
It will affect the amount of work & progress rate of my current WIP Project, but I will still continue to work on my project, and continue on my personal journey to release a game a month! I will still continue to update my Devlog daily(even if no one reads it :D) because It is really a great way for me to keep myself responsible, and to keep track of the progress I am making!
Regarding this blog:
I am no longer going to be posting the changes made in a numbered fashion as it didn't make much sense for people who didn't want to see every single change made, the Devlogs will be paragraph based, and I will talk about changes that I have made, planning on making and the progress rate. I will nonetheless post all the changes in a numbered fashion in the their appropriate tabs should you wish to check them out feel free!
A Farmer's Valley Progress
Today I worked on the in-game time system. every game second is equal to 0.012 real life seconds. The in-game time system is for the time being is fully functional, and I will continue to test it for any bugs, but for now it works perfectly fine. It is also properly displaying in UI, Time is displayed in Year, Season, Month, Day, Day Of Week, Hour, Minute, and it updates in 10min increments. I will make a small clip showcasing it tomorrow.
Bill Nye Gone Mad
For Bill Nye Gone Mad project I have made a small 45 second clip showcasing the weapon switching, shooting FX, enemy AI, and player electric weapon in full capacity, though it is not fully finished it should give a pretty good idea of the game will look.
Today I mostly worked on setting up the Enemy bullets, to move from left to right, and right to left based on where the player location is, and also setting up the enemy animations when getting shot, and when getting electrocuted. I also set up the basics of the health system that should be done by tomorrow.
Thanks for reading, and have a blast!
